Malamar is a Darkness-type Pokémon with 90 HP. It features two attacks: "Entangling Control" and "Trash Tentacle." "Entangling Control" requires one Colorless Energy and forces the opponent to switch a Benched Pokémon with their Active one, resulting in the new Active Pokémon being Confused. "Trash Tentacle" uses one Darkness Energy to retrieve a card from the discard pile into the player's hand. The Pokémon has a resistance to Psychic-type attacks, reducing damage by 20, and a weakness to Fighting-type attacks, dealing double damage. Malamar is part of the XY series, released in the Ancient Origins set in 2015. Its design is attributed to artist Masakazu Fukuda. The card's flavor text describes a Pokémon that lures prey with hypnotic movements before subduing it with digestive fluids.
