Houndoom-EX is a Fire-type Pokémon with 170 HP, featured in the XY series’ BREAKthrough set released in 2015. Its design is illustrated by artist Ryo Ueda, and it carries the Rare Ultra rarity. The card requires two Colorless Energy to retreat and has a unique rule stating that when a Pokémon-EX is Knocked Out, the opponent loses two Prize cards. Houndoom-EX boasts two attacks: Melting Horn, which costs a single Fire Energy to discard the top two cards of the opponent’s deck, and Grand Flame, a Fire Energy-costing move that deals 50 damage and attaches a Fire Energy card from the discard pile to a Benched Pokémon. The card has no resistances but is weak to Water-type attacks multiplied by two. It is numbered 153 in the set and is associated with the Pokémon Dex entry number 229.
