When did Mario Pikachu come out?
On October 29, 2016, in Japan. Pokémon Center stores sold a Mario Pikachu Special BOX and a Luigi Pikachu Special BOX for ¥1,500 each, as part of a wider Mario and Pikachu merchandise line. Each box held both cards for that character, plus a deck case, sleeves and a card storage box.
The cards have never had an English release and have never been reprinted. All four were drawn by Kouki Saitou, who also drew most of the poncho-wearing Pikachu promos.

293 is the regular holo, 294 the full art.
Luigi Pikachu
295 is the regular holo, 296 the full art.
What is the difference between 293, 294, 295 and 296?
The odd numbers, 293 for Mario and 295 for Luigi, are regular-frame holos with Pikachu in a box against a striped background and a Mario Pikachu logo. The even numbers, 294 and 296, are full arts: the artwork covers the whole card, with Pikachu running past a Japanese temple in autumn.
Both versions of each character have the same stats. They are 80 HP Lightning Pokémon, and both have an attack where you flip coins until you get tails and draw a card for each heads. Mario Pikachu's second attack does 30 damage, or 80 if a coin flip lands heads. Luigi Pikachu's does 60 damage and 20 to itself.
How much are Mario and Luigi Pikachu worth?
The full arts are worth the most, and Mario is worth more than Luigi. In late September 2026, the Cardmarket prices Pooka tracks put the Mario Pikachu full art (294) at about €11,300, the Luigi Pikachu full art (296) at about €5,900, the regular Mario (293) at about €4,200 and the regular Luigi (295) at about €3,900.
Those prices mix conditions, and graded copies in top condition sell for more.
