What are Tag Team Pokémon cards?
A Tag Team card is a Pokémon-GX with two or three Pokémon on it, like Pikachu & Zekrom-GX. Every one is a Basic Pokémon, so it goes straight into play. They came out in the 2019 sets, the last year of the Sun & Moon era.
The card carries a TAG TEAM rule: "When your TAG TEAM is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 3 Prize cards." Regular Pokémon-GX gave up two, so a Tag Team was half of the six Prize cards you need to win.

How do Tag Team GX attacks work?
Each Tag Team has a GX attack, and as with every Pokémon-GX you can use only one GX attack per game. Tag Team GX attacks add a twist: extra Energy unlocks a bonus. Pikachu & Zekrom-GX's Tag Bolt-GX does 200 damage, and if the card has at least 3 extra Lightning Energy attached, it also does 170 damage to one of your opponent's Benched Pokémon.
HP runs from 240 for cards like Pikachu & Zekrom-GX up to 300 for Magikarp & Wailord-GX and Moltres & Zapdos & Articuno-GX.

How many Tag Team GX cards are there?
There are 32 different Tag Team GX Pokémon in English. Team Up has 6, Unbroken Bonds 7, Unified Minds 8, Hidden Fates 1 and Cosmic Eclipse 9. The last one, Trevenant & Dusknoir-GX, only came out as the promo SM217.
Three of them have three Pokémon on the card: Moltres & Zapdos & Articuno-GX, Togepi & Cleffa & Igglybuff-GX and Arceus & Dialga & Palkia-GX. Most Tag Teams also have a full art and a rainbow rare version, and many were reprinted as promos.

Tag Team alternate arts
Sixteen Tag Teams have two full art versions. The second one, which collectors call the alt art, has a different illustration that shows the Pokémon in a full scene instead of against a plain background.
Check the number to tell them apart. For Latias & Latios-GX, 169/181 is the regular full art and 170/181 is the alt art.

How much are Tag Team GX cards worth?
The alt arts carry the value. In late September 2026, the Cardmarket prices Pooka tracks put the Latias & Latios-GX alt art at about €3,700, Magikarp & Wailord-GX at about €1,400, Gardevoir & Sylveon-GX at about €1,050 and Gengar & Mimikyu-GX at about €660. Most of the others sell for €140 to €400.
The regular holo versions are much cheaper. Pikachu & Zekrom-GX and Reshiram & Charizard-GX sell for about €50 to €55, and Mewtwo & Mew-GX for about €100.
